WRIT 60 is my very first UCI class which I'm taking remotely from another UC campus!
While I read over the syllabus, I was surprised and pleased to see a Grade Contract in place. What that means is essentially, given that a student puts forth an earnest effort at every assignment and opportunity to participate, they are guaranteed a B.
Specifically, "The contract grade of B does not derive from my judgment about the quality of your writing—it derives from your completion of the minimum requirements."
With many of this enrolled in this course in an effort to fulfill University writing requirements away from University, I'm sure it's been a weight lifted off many students shoulders to know that, though it may be a writing class, diligent and well-applied effort is a valid method of success in the course as opposed to solely focusing on quality work.
Speaking of work, this class contains three major assignments, with some training modules dispersed in-between.

Final Portfolio
When turning in late work, it will be marked down by a third of a letter grade for every day it is late.
To calculate what your current grade in is in this course, simply count up your assignments, beginning at the number 84.
For every three 9 Level Grades, subtract one. For every three 11 Level Grades, add one.
0 Level Grades also subtract one whereas Level 10 Extra Credit Grades add one.
